Forgiveness in Tragedy

I've been trying to write this entry for over a week and I'm still struggling. The murder of children I think, is incomprehensible for most of us, myself included. I try to think about what happened to these children here in Lancaster in that one room school house and I just can't wrap my brain around it. The one thing I am I can grasp and learn from is the actions of the Amish community. I can't think of another place in this country where after so much pain and suffering occurred not a lawsuit was filed, Where a wounded community not only forgave but reached out and welcomed the family of the man who murdered their children, Where those same people stood at his grave and prayed for him. The Amish have taught me a lot about how a Christian should treat his fellow man. I would love to write a long flowery essay about how these teachings have affected me but I can't I still need to process what I've learned and Pray that if tragedy strikes me I can be as loving.
