First Worship in the City of Lancaster
Just wanted to write a little about our experience at the Community Room on Prince Street last evening.
I got there at 3 PM to load in. My 4 Runner was loaded with stuff (sound, video, screen, candles, etc..). Because of circumstances I was the only one available to load in. The Community Room in on the 3rd Floor....so I loaded in for 1 hour. I was spent by the time I got everything up there. If I ever have to load all that by myself again...I am going to cancel the night. We are in the process of trying to decide what is essential and what isn't. I know we'll rearrange our sound gear, forgo the snake, maybe get a smaller screen, etc...
The space was amazing and felt like home. It is exactly the space that we feel that we should be in at this time.
Our theme for the night was CREATE. A friend came and painted for us. What we did was have everyone (children and adults) come up and put a mark, a line, or something on the canvas and then he went to work creating something out of our marks. It was an amazing process to watch and be a part of. I was blown away by it. I will attach some pictures when I get them from our photographer. (Thanks Dave)
As far as attendance was concerned....I don't know what I was looking for .... a magic bullet to growth. I probably put too much pressure on myself and on numbers...attendance was okay..we had 16 people...(6 regulars were missing...) but we also had a visitor who said that she'll be back.
Our children were in with us the whole night which was a great experience as we seek to value children and family worshipping together in community.
Our guitar player brought so much to the night and I am blown away by his talent and his desire to us it for worship and to help our little group out. (thanks Chris)
We will continue to meet there once a month and I pray that as we do it will steadily grow and seek to impact the community and the world.

AWESOME DUDE!!! It's not about numbers! It's about relationships!
I know, I know... numbers do matter a little... especially when there is only one carrying everything in... go lighter...recruit more help.... leave stuff in the car next time, if you are the only one... but DON'T cancel!!!! We plant the seeds and God brings the growth! I am in prayer for you and the new direction! I know God will use you and it! Send some pics soon!
In the early days of New Creation, there were Sundays when I preached to three. There are still days where 16 is a decent turn out. Keep going following the Lord and He will bring the increase.
God bless,
Dave
